The U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory, on behalf of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Office of Vehicle Technologies Program, is seeking applications for grants up to $10 million DOE funding to accelerate the introduction and penetration of electric transportation technology into the cargo transport sector.
DOE anticipate up to 2 awards in Fiscal Year 2012, with the potential for additional selections in Fiscal Year 2013 if additional funding is recommended through the appropriations process.
Eligibility is restricted to local governments, ports, metropolitan transportation authorities, air pollution control districts, or combinations thereof operating in and/or governing either the Los Angeles South Coast Air basin (8-hour ozone) nonattainment area or the Houston-Galveston-Brazoria nonattainment area.
A minimum of 50% cost share is required.
