EERE Funding Opportunity Announcements

With this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), the Department of Energy (DOE) seeks to fund Outreach and Analysis type projects. Topics include:

Topic 1: Outreach to develop strategies and new approaches to facilitate development and expansion of the domestic supply chain of hydrogen and fuel cell-related components in the U.S.

• Identify gaps in the supply chain and strategies to mitigate the gaps for hydrogen and fuel cell components and systems.
• Develop supply chain enhancement strategies (e.g., online supply chain exchanges, supply chain outreach, and supply chain exchange event type events).

Topic 2: Global manufacturing competitive analysis for hydrogen and fuel cell-related technologies.

• Carry out comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting U.S. manufacturing competitiveness for hydrogen and fuel cell components and systems.
• Provide manufacturing-related market analyses related to the global fuel cell industry trends, including the number of units and size (megawatts) of fuel cells shipped and binned by country and type of application.

The eXCHANGE system is currently designed to enforce hard deadlines for Full Application submissions. The APPLY and SUBMIT buttons automatically disable at the defined submission deadlines. The intention of this design is to consistently enforce a standard deadline for all applicants.

Potential applicants are encouraged to submit a Letter of Intent by 05/30/2014. However, a Letter of Intent is not required to submit a full application.

Overview Webinar: The Webinar mentioned in the FOA was held on June 5^th, 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time. The Webinar script and slides are provided in the FOA Documents section below.

The purpose of this Notice is to provide potential applicants advance notice that the Fuel Cell Technologies Office (FCTO), on behalf of the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), intends to issue a FOA titled "Clean Energy Supply Chain and Manufacturing Competitiveness Analysis for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies" (DE-FOA-0000854).

This Notice is issued so that interested parties are aware of the EERE’s intention to issue this FOA in the near term. All of the information contained in this Notice is subject to change. EERE may issue a FOA as described herein, may issue a FOA that is significantly different than the FOA described herein, or DOE may not issue a FOA at all.

NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH THIS NOTICE. Please do not submit questions or respond to this Notice of Intent. Prospective applicants to the FOA should begin developing partnerships, formulating ideas, and gathering data in anticipation of the issuance of this FOA. It is anticipated that this FOA will be posted to EERE eXCHANGE in May 2014.
