This is a Request for Information issued by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO), on behalf of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The intent of this RFI is to obtain public input regarding a potential new mooring and anchoring R&D program as well as the process and structure of a potential DOE award opportunity to fund research, development, demonstration and commercialization activities on floating offshore wind substructure mooring systems, materials, and components, in accordance with section 41007(b)(1) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Specifically, this RFI seeks input on:

- Mooring and Anchoring Technology Development
- Mooring and Anchoring Supply Chain Development
- Potential Solicitation Process and Funding Opportunity StructureEquity, Environmental and Energy Justice (EEEJ) Priorities

Information collected from this RFI may be used by DOE for planning purposes to develop a potential new R&D program and potential award opportunity. The information collected will not be published.

This RFI is not accepting applications for financial assistance or financial incentives. EERE may or may not issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) based on consideration of the input received from this RFI.
