The objective of the Marine and Hydrokinetic (MHK) Research and Development (R&D) University Consortium FOA is to leverage the field R&D expertise and intellectual capital of domestic universities to advance MHK technology in the U.S. in the following strategic opportunity areas:
· Device
and/or array operation and maintenance (O&M) logistics development
· High-fidelity
resource characterization and/or modeling technique development and validation
· Distributed
application device development and techno-economic studies
· Array-specific
component technology development (e.g. moorings and foundations, transmission,
and other offshore grid components)
· Array
performance testing and evaluation
· Novel
cost-effective environmental monitoring techniques and instrumentation testing
and evaluation
This FOA
intends to fund a consortium of two or more domestic universities. The
Prime Applicant must be either a domestic university or a consortium where one
(1) domestic university is designated as the Lead.
The eXCHANGE system is currently designed to enforce hard deadlines for Full Application submissions. The APPLY and SUBMIT buttons automatically disable at the defined submission deadlines. The intention of this design is to consistently enforce a standard deadline for all applicants.
