We hope this message finds yours well. In anticipation of completing our RFI responses to the questions outlined in DE-FOA-0000637: Improving Accuracy of Solar Forecasting (RFI), along with the abstract, we have noticed that a pre-application deadline has not been specified.
In the interest of meeting the requirements for this FOA, with the Full Application Submission deadline scheduled for 2/03/2012, we would like to confirm with you if there is a Concept Paper Submission Deadline or not.
We are very excited to pursue this FOA with our intended responses, abstract and proposal, and look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Answer 1:
The RFI issued 1/6/2012 DE-FOA-0000637: Improving Accuracy of Solar Forecasting does not require the submission of a concept paper or an application. As noted on page 6 of the RFI document, responses to the questions listed on page 5 are due 2/3/2012 by 4:59 pm EST. This is a Request for Information. DOE may or may not issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement. This RFI is not accepting applications for financial assistance.
Question 2:
I just noticed this FOA, but see that the deadline is past. Is there any plan for an additional FOA? I am particularly interested in Topic 3: Inclusion of Solar forecasts in Utility/ISO system operations.
Answer 2:
As noted the in the Request for Information (RFI), “DOE will not pay for information provided under this RFI and no projects will be supported as a result of this RFI. This RFI is not accepting applications for financial assistance or financial incentives. This is a Request for Information. DOE may or may not issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement as described herein.”
