| Workforce Development | The InnoEnergy Skills Institute (ISI) is prepared to support applicants in developing their Community Benefits Plan and workforce development strategy. Developed in 2021, the ISI has trained more than 40,000 learners with over 200 hours of content.
We provide modularized and flexible skill development training through virtual instruction, in-person labs, and continued learning support. InnoEnergy is developing industry-recognized credentials to provide workers with verified and transferable skills. Our existing curriculum spans job profiles across the battery value chain and we are working with industry partners to develop content in photovoltaics and green hydrogen. The ISI is trusted by universities, community colleges, and industry partners across North America and Europe to train and prepare a sustainable energy workforce. |

| DE-FOA-0003060 | Our team has expertise in electrical engineering, meteorological instrumentation (specifically for cloud and solar radiation measurements), as well as balance-of-system high efficiency peak power tracking charge control electronics. We develop and manufacture industrial equipment for automatically measuring cloud cover, infrared terrestrial radiation and all components of visible/ultraviolet solar radiation. By combining these measurements using short-term data fusion algorithms we can produce short range forecasts indicating when large industrial-scale PV/CSP plants will go offline / come back online due to local weather. We call this total obscuration prediction system (TOPS) and would like to further develop and demonstrate it as part of the department of energy's initiative. (Our commercial MFR-7 solar radiation monitoring system was originally licensed from DOE PNNL and is used by DOE and widely used across the world solar industry to monitor PV performance by providing direct/diffuse/total sola irradiance input.)
As a commercial producer of meteorological dropsondes, we also are interested in developing high altitude long endurance Unmanned aerial systems to dispense these into major tropical cyclones. For these UAV to be practical we are very interested in lightweight thin film photovoltaic multijunction PV cells. Double-sided PV are also of interest, as are perovskite PV that are printed onto lightweight flexible substrates. |

Advanced Manufacturing (Industrial)
| Domestic raw material supplier for solar cell semiconductors | American Perovskites (AP) is a material supplier specializing in hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for stable perovskite devices. Invented by the Sellinger Group at Colorado School of Mines, our HTM is a dopant-free, low-cost, and tunable conductive p-type polymer that demonstrates device stability due to its high wettability properties. We have a premium industrial production facility in Colorado and are inventorying additional materials, including precursor inks, solvents, and encapsulants.
AP is a recipient of the American-Made Perovskite Startup Prize Contest and competing for the Perovskite Startup Liftoff Prize.
AP is interested in collaborating with thin-film solar cell manufacturers in the role of raw material supply in order to help manufacturers satisfy domestic content requirements. |
