| Water Power Innovation Network | We are performers on a DOE WPTO SBIR in which we have developed capabilities to perform advanced, high spatio-temporal resolution characterizations of marine energy generation potential utilizing novel high resolution satellite altimetry data.
We are interested in applying our SBIR developed data products to produce real-world characterizations of marine renewable energy sites that are highly responsive to short time weather events, fine spatial arrangements, and novel technologies.
Our company (GDA) has extensive expertise in mathematically rigorous data science in a variety of domains including distributed and remote environmental sensing and oceanographic data sciences. Our core team of ocean science researchers includes multiple Ph.D. scientists with expertise in applied mathematics, computational science, modeling, machine learning, and ocean and atmospheric sciences. We specialize in modern data science software development and utilize industry best practices to produce reproducible and verifiable software products and data analyses. We are capable of working in any modern data science software environment including (but not limited to) Python, R, Julia, and MATLAB/Octave. |

| Advanced Manufacturing | We apply our proprietary technology to make the world’s first and only high-performance low-cost carbon fiber, serving automotive, wind energy, civil infrastructure, marine, aerospace and transportation markets. We also pultrude composite products and produce oxidized PAN fiber (OPF). We don’t have standardized products but rather we work with large-volume customers to tailor products to their specific applications. Our revolutionary, patent-pending processes enable the lowest cost carbon fiber products available in today's market. Our technology also reduces by two thirds the carbon fiber manufacturing emission levels. We frequently work with grant recipients to produce specific carbon fiber, OPF or composite products for their research projects. We have received multiple NSF SBIR and DoE grants ourselves and are familiar with federal grants and associated requirements. Our founder and CTO Connie Jackson is an industry veteran with senior level experience running CF and pultrusion operations. Previously she ran operations for Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Carbon Fiber Technology Facility. |

| Water power site available to team on Brandywine River | We are an innovative real estate development company that owns a 1.16 acres site with rights to 50% of water of the Brandywine River at our location in Wilmington, Delaware. Our site is fed by a 40ft mill race, and we have 15ft of head for turbines with up to 229 ft of length frontage on the river. We have not yet measured the specific flow to our site, but the Brandywine River in total averages 408 cubic feet per second in our area. It spikes at highs of 13,000 and has lows of 100.
We are interested to partner with turbine innovators who could use our site for their new technology and apply for this grant together.
Thank you! |
